Introducing Susan Cagle

SUSAN CAGLE

Yes, you've heard and seen her in my last few YOUTUBE posts. My latest addiction. I keep playing her song, Manhattan Cowboy over and over again because I just couldn't get enough of it, even now, as I'm drafting this entry.

Introducing Susan Cagle, an incredible girl who turned famous overnight after being discovered playing her own music in the subway. She writes her own music, lyrics, play her own guitar, sings with her powerful, mind blowing voice and she's got this super beautiful smile.:) I'm melting.

I just love the humble performance at the subway full with people bustling about. Her live band, consists of her own sister and brother stops these busy, working folks with their music. Her songs are amazingly touching and cool at the same time. The entire album rocks!

Singer-songwriter Susan, 25, was brought up in a family of restrictive religious cult. Her parents were members of the Children of God new religious movement.

Extracted from Oprah's show.
"We had to do everything that they told us to do," she says. "We were only allowed to read the Bible or other religious publications that were written by the organization."After years of feeling like a prisoner in her own life, Susan says she escaped that world and started on a path of her own. "It was like, 'Oh my gosh, I've got these feelings inside me I've always felt, a hunger for knowledge, for the world,' and I was told it was wrong," she says.

"Once I started reading, it was like, 'Wow, I need to get out of this.'"Susan moved to New York City, where she took her love of singing to the streets. "Basically, the subway allowed me to connect with people. In the subways I wasn't alone," she says. "I realized, looking around at all the people rushing by me, that everybody has their own story. … It made me realize that, wow, I don't have to use my background as an excuse to not do anything with my life."

Check it out, ppl, you won't regret it.
