Wedding frenzy

My Gosh...you would have thought that I'm flying gracefully back to Kuching for a real holiday finally....yay.... I thought i was going to attend Shu Ling's wedding...but then, I extended my stay cos I was invited to Becky's wedding too so I have 2 weddings to attend in my one pathetic week of holiday.

Today, my mom msn-ed and asked, "Your uncle's wedding on 29th, you wanna attend? Ah Ma, Ah Kong, uncles, aunties...blah blah...your Dad and I will attend."

I was like...huh??? I still got an uncle who's single meh? Anyway, I don't think I can handle 3 weddings in a week. Come on, I have to save some weddings to attend for 2008!!!

I'll just stay home with Boy boy.hehe....and my two cute dogs, Jojo and Fifi.

Kolong mee, Laksa, here I come again!! Welcome me home!

At Christmas I no more desire a rose
Than wish a snow in May's new fangled mirth;
But like of each thing that in season grows.

William Shakespeare

A Season for All

In this season of joy and love, let us open our hearts and remember the unfortunate ones out there who needs our SUPPORT, CARE, LOVE and WARMTH.
Keep the yuletide spirit going...endlessly.....

Missing Doreen & George

It's Christmas holidays again and as I was sending Xmas cards, I started to miss my friends back in the UK, specially the old Irish couple who had influenced me so much in my few years on earth as compared to them. They are the oldest and most loving couple I've ever met.
George sent me some of their latest photos taken in Spain.

Every year, without fail, they go for holidays in Spain with their family, their daughter lives there and the sunny days are often what they need during the cruel, frosting winter in Britain.

Doreen on the far most left with her sisters & niece
Doreen was the one who first told me about Advent calendar. Where children are given special calendar with little pockets or windows to open and unveil tiny surprises each day from the start of Dec until Christmas day.
I remember those days where I helped her wrap up tiny presents for her to send over to her grandchildren. She's been doing that without fail every year and I could feel a grandmother's love, always so unconditional. She's always learning new skills. She was self learning German when I first got to know her and then while doing her knitting, she would be minding her gardens despite her ailing body. She's my angel when I first stepped into St Andrew's in Notts and of the many things she taught me, she got me into the habit of reading. Doreen is always sweet, reserved, smart, thoughtful, generous and kind.

George's health is slowly getting better as his legs were giving him problems before. In his 80s, he's considered a superman or super professor, I reckon. Still at the top of his game, he continues his researches for his papers in Mathematics. Already being awarded by universities for his work with multiple PhDs, he's the one and only man I know with such passion and love in researching for breakthroughs in Math.
With a huge heart, he's also active in church and constantly never fail to keep up to date with his Mac computer and his daily breakfast with crossword puzzles. You would have thought an academic like him would be serious but he's the sweetest old grandpa I know who doesn't even bear to hurt an ant. I remember hugging him goodbye, tears in my eyes, I wonder when will be the time I'll be able to sit in his cosy study again.

Doreen & George's family outing at
Rathlin - an island just north of northern Ireland

MERRY, BLESSED CHRISTMAS to you both!!!

Totally Bowled Over- Another 好友帮 challenge

Pat and I were missing our regular gatherings and remembered that Bowling was one of the many plans Eefu suggested before.

All set, the 8 of us met up after work for a sumptuous meal and proceeded to OCC for our challenging night.

As Eefu and Shin were both the star players, obviously the team captains, we split into two teams randomly and named ourselves......

Da Nai Bing 大乃兵 ( Big boobies soldiers)

Ping Chang Gong Zhu ( Flat chesties princesses)

I don't even remember how we got the silly names but eventually, Flat chesties were bowled over by Big boobies.....errr.....our big boobs probably gave us more balance.

The scores for both teams......

Big boobies soldiers Flat chesties princesses

Big boobies soldiers <> Flat chesties princesses

The victorious team had our expenses fully paid by Flat chesties princesses. Thank you very much. kekeke....
Captain Eefu with her cute monkey face...

But seriously, I've never had so much adrenalin pumping in my body before but we were all having so much fun competing and yet encouraging each other when we scored a Strike or a Spare. The feeling was indescribable and we kept jumping like mad women when we did a strike. Players from other lanes were envious of our team spirit and energy.

好友帮 Energy never ceases.

However, whether it's a game of bowling or a game to see whose ass is the largest from the back, nobody knows.

The winning team's shoes. From below:- Puicess Sann, Baby Pat, Captain Shin, Baby Val

Diana ah Gal, Christine Tajie, Captain Eefu, Hwee Miang

The game really worn us all out and that night, I'm sure the rest had a good sleep as deep as mine.

Til our next gathering....Tajie Christine's Bday!!!
Look out!!

Very much Enchanted

Another Walt Disney fairy tale we've been waiting for...and after many times seeing the trailer in movie theaters and kept jumping up and down in my seat insisted to my frens that I must watch this....I finally did...just now since it was premiering tonight.
It's Thurs nite, of cos it's FULL HOUSE!
Anyway, Dr Mc Dreamy on the right is ever so dreamily handsome with his eyes that speak!! The show has the best of both worlds, the animated cartoon, Walt Disney, the best, and romantic comedy flick in NYC. sigh......you'll have to watch it to get what I mean....

Even this evil witch, Susan Sarandon made me laugh...the whole show is just pure fantasying satisfying!

And the chipmunk, PIP, is truly genius. Or at least he's created by a genius in Disney. Made me laugh til tears rolled out my enchanted eyes...heeeeee...
Enjoy lah,peeps....
Gisele made such a lovely turquoise dress out of Richard's curtains. She taught him the meaning of LOVE and he taught her the meaning of DATE. And they lived happily ever after.
sighhhhh......so nice...
~THE END~

We're not alone

A stormy afternoon, I was awake in bed. Listening to the thunder outside the window, I realized that I had always loved the thunder. Not the lightning but the thunder. Sometimes, it's loud but sometimes, it's just a mild rumble. I laid still, with my room windows closed, I could feel the strong wind gushing through. And then I listened carefully, the thunder made me feel calm. Since young, I had always enjoyed the coming of the storm, the sound of thunder sort of announced that the world is not alone. As if a huge party is coming. A deep voice telling me that everything is alright. A good company, I appreciate when I'm on my own, calm enough to actually listen. How often can I do that? To settle down calmly and really listen?
Anyway, I love the thunder and the thunder brings rain.
I love God's creation.

Memory loss?

Lately, I'm not sure whether it's my increasing age or what but I have been neglecting a lot on remembering things. Not being able to concentrate fully at work, forgetting tasks and remembering the wrong birthdates, got Grace's dog's name mixed up, somehow, my soul is like floating. I think really, age and memory loss do grow exponentially.
What's wrong with me anyway?

Blissful Moments

It's wonderful....
It's marvelous....
That's how I feel for the past week....

Just like how the song goes...like this..originally by Ella Fitzgerald

It's wonderful to look into your eyes
And realize you care a little bit
It's wonderful to know that you love me
It's glorious to feel that I'm a part of you sweetheart
To share your happiness
It's marvelous how lovely love can be

Who dreamed that I'd be allowed
Through the doorway of heaven
I'm drifting high on a cloud
You're an angel and this is heaven
It's wonderful to have your lips divine combined with mine
And dream forever moreIt's wonderful to know that you love me

{instrumental interlude}

Who dreamed that I'd be allowed
Through the doorway of heaven
I'm drifting high, high on a cloud
You're an angel and this is heaven
Oh, it's wonderful to have your lips divine combined with mine
And dream forever more
It's wonderful to know that you love me
It's glorious
It's marvelous
Oh darling it's wonderful

Sex in the City - The Movie 2007

Oklah, Come on gals...and guys too....admit that you've been secretly missing this HBO series which enlightened us about SEX...specially when living in the City.
I miss the girls...I miss Samantha Jones the most!!!

She's got the kind of spunk which a real woman should have.
Carrie and her gay best friend.>

Carrie and Mr Big. Above.
I've always enjoyed the show because it shows the friendships between the 4 individually unique woman living in Manhattan, sipping Cosmopolitan while bitching about Men who sleep or don't sleep with them.

The other main thing I love this show is their wardrobe. I absolutely admire their sense of style and constant fashion runway with the famous Monolos & Jimmy Choos.

Look at Carrie with her Vogue...she's definitely the cover girl if she wants too.

This up and coming movie is when they reunite to show us the real ending of the story. Carrie is getting married to Mr Big, our rich and famous and HANDSOME!!!!
I'm sure there'll be much antics from the gals in the wedding preparations and ceremony.

It's a sad thing that Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Catrall are arch enemies in real life cos their close knit "friendship" in SIC is so sweet.
I adore the gals when they lunch, do yoga, go for manicures or spa...reminds me of my own gal pals.
Lets look forward to a great show this year. I can't wait!!!!!
