HAIRSPRAY 2007
I have only one word for this movie. SUPER-FANTA-BLOODY-TASTIC!!
Whoever thinking of skipping this movie, please, I beg you, DON'T. This needs to be watched on big screen and the Soundtrack...oh my, they have the best songs throughout the show. From the minute it started, til the very last song. This is indeed the best musical movie lately though I thought the Dreamgirls was alright. Though Moulin Rouge and The Chicago were the few musicals that made it, this one should get the extra ratings due to the easy going and simple plot. Comically entertaining and fabulously casted.
Michelle Pfeiffer was so lovable despite being the biach in the show. I could just hug John Trovalta when I see her..opps,him in that cute shiny pink outfit and high heels. Amanda Bynes is the sexiest bimbo I've ever seen and the notorious Queen Latifah was just fabulous.
Starring cast
Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Edna Turnblad: An optimistic, overweight teenage girl who loves to dance, Tracy's color-blindness unwittingly leads her to becoming an active supporter for the integration of The Corny Collins Show. Hairspray is newcomer Nikki Blonsky's first time as a professional actress.

Queen Latifah as "Motormouth" Maybelle Stubbs: A Baltimore R&B radio dee jay who hosts "Negro Day" on The Corny Collins Show, Maybelle also runs a record shop on North Avenue. Queen Latifah appeared in the successful Zadan/Meron movie musical Chicago (2002), and worked under Adam Shankman's direction in Bringing Down the House (2003).[24] She beat out soul legend Aretha Franklin for the role of Maybelle.[20]
